Fingering Weight Yarn
Fingering weight yarn is slightly heavier than lace weight, but still quite thin. It is a versatile yarn that creates lightweight fabrics that have beautiful drape and stitch definition. It is ideal for lace, textured stitches, and colorwork.
Depending on needle size and gauge, it can create an airy, open fabric or a firmer, more structured fabric.
It is often referred to as sock yarn, especially if the yarn contains nylon. In addition to socks, it is well suited for shawls, cowls, lightweight garments and delicate accessories.
